Summit County recognizes the need for and importance of Early Childhood Educators. Issues concerning quality programs all hinge on the need for consistent care by experienced and educated providers.
The Apple Tree Fund is a program of Early Childhood Options designed to support and encourage early childhood professionals in their professional development.

Scholarships
Early Childhood Options has funds available to help teachers who are working towards certification and/or degrees in Early Childhood Education. Persons working or planning to work at a licensed childcare center or home program in Summit County are eligible to apply. The following are deadlines for each semester:
Fall Scholarships-October 15th
Spring Scholarships-March 15th
Summer Scholarships-July 15th

A team of early childhood specialists is available to work with childcare centers and providers to increase the level of professionalism and quality of childcare in Summit County. There are numerous trainings available throughout Summit County. Please visit our calendar to view trainings month by month. The Apple Tree Fund has Teacher Training Assistance dollars to help local teachers attend trainings that support the core knowledge areas.
