Community Infant Project
The Community Infant Project (CIP) serves higher-need children and families with identified risk factors. Through multi-visits a team of professionals work with families with children from prenatal to 3 years of age.
Early Childhood Connections
Early Childhood Connections is a federally mandated program, through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.) serving children and their family’s birth to three years of age with documented delay in one or more areas of development or a condition associated with delays in their development.
The purpose of Early Childhood Connections is to enhance the development of infants and toddlers who have developmental delays and to enhance the family's capacity to meet their child's special needs. Early Childhood Connections provides support and services to these families in a Natural Environment within the families everyday routine activities and places. Families United
Families United is a home visitation program based on the Parents as Teachers (P.A.T.) curriculum, available to both Spanish and English speaking families with children between ages 0 and 5 years old. The program consists of monthly home visits by a parent educator knowledgeable in child development and current research concerning children. Family Visitor
Family Visitor provides visits to Spanish speaking families over a 2-12 month period. Visitors answer general parenting and life skill questions. Visitors also work to establish themselves as a resource person and provide information on community resources.
Head Start
Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive child development program. The overall goal of Head Start is to increase school readiness of children in low-income families. In Summit County, there are Head Start slots located in the Upper Blue Elementary Preschool, Dillon Valley Elementary Preschool, Silverthorne Elementary Preschool, Summit Education Center and Summit County Preschool. Target families include single parents, immigrant families and children with disabilities. Head Start families are visited at home by the family engagement coordinator. Nurse Family Partnership
The Nurse Family Partnership is designed to help first time, limited income mothers whom may have other risk factors: drug dependency, single, tobacco use, poor nutrition. Client receives intensive nurse home visits by a registered nurse during pregnancy and until the child’s second birthday. One of the program’s goals is to empower families with education about healthy behaviors, child development, parenting and community resources.
Nurse Visit-County Services
The Nurse Visit through County Services offers assistance to low income, high-risk families. Families receive one prenatal, one postnatal and one postpartum visit. The program includes the Prenatal Plus Program, links parents to other resources and serves as the Colorado prenatal program of undocumented pregnant women. Families receive medical check-up of newborn. Professionals help to answer questions concerning basic medical and general care questions.
Warm Welcome
Warm Welcome is universal home visitation program available to all new parents. A volunteer visits a family both pre and postnatal. Basic information about newborns, parenting and community resources are made available to the family during the visit. The Warm Welcome coordinator recruits, trains and supervises the volunteers and maintains the data and outcome of the program.
