Keynote Address #1: "Science Behind Attachment" Dr. Bob Sears "Every parent hopes to raise intelligent, self-confident, and empathetic children. New parents are faced with many different, and often conflicting, types of advice from well-meaning family, friends and books on how to help achieve this goal. Dr. Bob will share how virtually every scientific study done on child development and behavior shows that a more hands-on, attached, and involved parenting approach results in children who are smarter, form better relationships, are more empathetic toward others, eventually become more independent, have less behavioral and anti-social problems in school, and have less psychiatric problems as adults." by Dr. Bob Sears Keynote Address #2: "Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood" Dr. Bob Sears "Every parent knows their children should eat healthy and limit junk food. Yet there are many
hidden sources of “junk” that parents don’t know about. What we eat has a life-long impact on
our health. Dr. Bob will show parents not only what to eat and not eat, but how to get kids to want
to eat healthy. Topics include how to prevent childhood obesity, hidden sources of food chemicals Movie Screening with Discussion : "What Babies Want " Debby Takikawa "What Babies Want is an award winning documentary film that explores the profoundly important
and sacred opportunity we have in bringing children into the world. Filled with captivating stories
and infused with Noah Wyle's warmth as narrator, the film demonstrates how life patterns are
established at birth and before. The documentary includes groundbreaking information on early Keynote Address #3: "Vaccinations" Dr. Bob Sears "Vaccines have become the most controversial topic in pediatric healthcare, and parents are scared and confused. They have no where to turn to get complete, unbiased, balanced information to help them understand their child’s vaccines. Everything there is to read is either very pro-vaccine (without a fair discussion on the possible side effects of shots) or totally anti-vaccine (without proper warnings about the risks of the disease themselves). Dr. Bob Sears puts all this information into one package so parents can make an educated decision." by Dr. Bob Sears |
