Summit County Community Partners for Children, a coalition of advocates for young children, presented a 2010 Community Champion for Children Award to Borders in Dillon, Colorado. The award was presented at the Annual Summit County Early Childhood Appreciation Mixer on April 28, 2010. Accepting the award for Borders was Stephanie Katz. Over 100 early childhood professionals and community members were in attendance.
Borders was selected as the award recipient for their ongoing literacy outreach efforts. Efforts recognized included free story times for young children, book drives for local non-profits serving families with young children and teacher recognition events. Community Partners for Children also wished to specially acknowledge Ms. Katz’s dedication and willingness to help families and organizations in selecting books and promoting a love for reading.
